(1) HOW TO RENEW INDONESIAN PASSPORT

Tips
  • Bring clip file/hardcover book to write on
  • Bring a pen
  • Wear proper shoes
  • Bring jacket or seat at the last rows in the waiting area

Documents to prepare:
  • 2 x Employer's photocopy IC
  • 3 x Kontrak Kerja
  • 2 x Maid’s photocopy passport (applicant has to write their name, address and contact number in Malaysia and address and contact number (relative) in Indonesia, maid' s Signature) 
  • 2 x Maid’s photocopy insurance cover (Note: You must buy 1 Insurance for Malaysia & Indonesia respectively)
  • 2 x Maid’s photocopy permit
  • 1 x Letter stating the reason to renew passport (ie to get working permit) in BM
  • 2 x insurance copy
  • 3 x Surat kuasa & my IC
Cost 
RM47 5-year passport (RM120 10-year passport)

RM90 Insurance when in Malaysia (bought at parking area next to embassy))
RM90 Great Eastern Insurance when in Indonesia (bought at parking area next to embassy)

RM610 Permit 

Day 1 
  • Start queuing at the Embassy before 7 a.m. 
  • Next, I’ve got to sign a document declaring myself as the proxy for my maid 
  • Employer: queue at Counter 1/2 to submit work contract. Then, wait for number to be called for short Q&A
  • Maid: queue outside for queue number to submit her documentations. Then, wait for her number to be called for a photo session. Once completed, the officer will give a slip on the date when to collect  the passport ( a week after)
  • Waiting period: 2-3 hours


Day 2 
Only took 30 minutes to collect it. Indonesian Embassy has allocated another place to collect the passport near Mandiri Bank (Jalan Chow Kit).

Next, go to Jabatan Imigresen to update passport details - at the counter. Next, apply for a permit via MyeG.
